Mary Ella GRANTHAM Graves Spears

I am looking for more information about my grandmother, Mabel GRAVES.

Mabel GRAVES (January 02 or January 07, 1907 - July 29, 1930) married John "Joe" Edward "Ed" McCLENDON (March 09, 1891 - July 09, 1950). John Edward McClendon died in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Washington Parish. He was my grandfather. See his obituary.

Mabel GRAVES and John "Joe" Edward "Ed" McCLENDON had two children both born in Bogalusa, Louisiana, Washington Parish (I believe):

Eddie Mae McCLENDON (January 26, 1926 - still alive) She married Charles Lee Fornea and they live in Greenwell Springs, Louisiana.

John "Joe" Eugene McCLENDON, Sr. (my father, March 14, 1929 - still alive). He married several times. See My McCLENDONs.

According to Shelia C. Atkinson, her grandmother, Carrie Mae GRAVES and my grandmother, Mabel GRAVES (Britt) McClendon were sisters. Their parents were John Rankin GRAVES and Mary Ella GRANTHAM. They are my great-grandparents.

John Rankin GRAVES' parents were John GRAVES and Emma WALL. (See Descendants of John GRAVES)

Mary Ella GRANTHAM's parents were John GRANTHAM (See Descendants of Ed GRANTHAM) and Agnes McLEMORE (See Descendants of James L. Macklemore).

John Rankin GRAVES (b. 1858 d. ? ) married Mary Ella GRANTHAM (b. 4/10/1887 d. 7//13/75 buried: Nobles Cemetery,
Pine, La.). They had the following children:

Mabel GRAVES (Britt) McClendon (b. 1/3/07 d. 7/29/30. She died of pneumonia.)
Minnie GRAVES Christ (b. 1/28/09 d. 11/15/90)
Johnny GRAVES (b. 10/3/10 d. 2/??/82)
Obie GRAVES (b. 5/2/12 d. 2/??/40)
Otis GRAVES (b. 4/26/15 d. 10/6/71)
Ray Losey GRAVES (b. 11/10/16 d. 2/2/20)
Charlie GRAVES (b. 10/7/18 d. 12/29/80)
Carrie Mae GRAVES Spears (b. 11/18/20 d. 11/19/91 buried: Ponemah Cemetery, Bogalusa, La.)
Allie GRAVES Winbourne (b. 5/10/22 d. 2/1/65)
Rodney GRAVES (b. 9/29/24 d. 6/30/84)

Dates were taken from Mary Ella GRANTHAM's Bible.

Mabel GRAVES's first husband was named Emerich BRITT (I had Luther E. BRITT, so that makes it Luther Emerich BRITT). They had a child named Bernice BRITT. (My notes indicate that they may have had a son, Shelton BRITT.

Her second husband was my grandfather Ed McCLENDON (His complete name is John Edward McCLENDON). See his obituary.
