My grandfather was L. F. or Leon "Lonnie" Frank McCLENDON (March 3, 1887 - December 9, 1919) and he married Lydia CORKERN on January 31, 1907. He was killed in a logging accident. (My dad was 12 years old at the time.) He is buried in the Enon Cemetery near Franklinton, Washington Parish, Louisiana, see below. They had seven children:

1 - Lester Lofton McCLENDON (November 8, 1907 - May 16, 1964) m. Gladys Belle QUINN, 4 children.

2 - Corinne McCLENDON (June 25, 1909 - July 7, 1988) m. Warren JONES, 3 children.

3 - Zelmer E. McCLENDON (August 25, 1911 - December 14, 1976) m. Bertie LOTT, 4 children. (Note: Bertie LOTT was the daughter of Wiley Theodore LOTT (June 8, 1880 - July 18, 1969) and Cornelia V. COTTON. Bertie LOTT is Patricia Darlene McCLENDON's cousin twice removed AND my 2nd cousin 3 times removed since she has LOTTs on both side of her family. John L. LOTT is her 2nd great-grandfather and my 3rd great-grandfather.) See Zelmer E. McCLENDON and Bertie LOTT's children, below in Descendants of William McClendon.

4 - William "Bill" McCLENDON (January 27, 1913 - November 22, 1960) m. Grace MOAK, 3 children.

Children: Leon F McCLENDON, Jr. (May 23, 1951 - December 1982) who was adopted by my father Lester Lofton McCLENDON, Sr. after my 1st wife Shirley McNEESE died in 1953. Leon F. McCLENDON, Jr. was living in Baker, LA when he died of cancer. Here is his Social Security Death Index listing:

Ben's Ford. A public school, now discontinued, and a Baptist church are
identified by the name of "Ben's Ford".
