"The material or information requested does not exist in that time period. ... (prior to 1911). The Louisiana Death Index on Ancestry.com is listed as being from 1900 - 1949, so I don't know why the vital records people have a cut-off at 1911.

William McCLENDON (about 1822) married Mary HAYS (HAYES) on April 22, 1851 in St. Helena Parish, LA. She was the daughter of Parker HAYS (HAYES) and ?

They had at least 4 children:

2. Serena McCLENDON (abt 1855 - Aft. 1900) married William Harrison TRAVIS (Bet. Jan 1844 - 1845 - 1932) between 1871 - 1872 in St. Helena Parish, LA.

4. Mary? Ellen McCLENDON (abt 1861 - ?) married Joseph Gustave Hansford LEBO? (Dec 20, 1855 in LA - 1923)
   
   Information on one of their son, Henry Alces LEBO (Mar 01, 1895 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA - Feb 03, 1936) who married Edna Bell LAMBERT between 1903 - 1904. They had at least 6 children: Luzutte Lebo (about 1917 in LA - ); Willie Lebo (about 1919 in LA - ); Claudie Lebo (about 1922 in LA - ); Woodrow Lebo (about 1924 in LA - ); J W Lebo (about 1927 in LA - ); and Eunice Lebo (about 1930 in LA - ).
   
   Information on one of their daughter, Josephine Valentine Lebo (Apr 19, 1889 in Ascension Parish, LA - Jun 28, 1973 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA?). "Joe," Joseph P(arker?) McCLENDON (March 9, 1857 born in LA - June 22, 1933 at the home of daughter, Mrs. Dixie McCLENDON Bannister in Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, LA; see Joe P. McClendon's Certificate of Death) married Julie Ann LOTT (November 29, 1857 or 1859 Marion Co., MS - July 24, 1933 at the home of  her son, John "Eddie," Edward McCLENDON in Bogalusa, Washington Parish, LA; see Mrs. Julia McClendon's Death Certificate and her obit and her web page.). They had at least 5 children:

Julia Ann LOTT was the daughter of John L. LOTT (October 23, 1831 - November 15, 1871), and Margarette Grace POUNDS (April 04, 1838 - October 30, 1921). John LOTT and Margarette Grace POUNDS (See Descendants of John POUNDS) were married on  October 11, 1855 and they had 10 children, including Julie Ann LOTT. 

1. Leoda, Leota or Leoter McCLENDON (September 20, 1883 - November 27, 1948) married Richard COWART and they had 12 children, one child: Robert COWART. See her son's, Harley Benard COWART's SS-5 form which list her as Leora McCLENDON.
   

2. Chester Eugene McCLENDON (March 25, 1886 - March 14, 1945) married Martha Elizabeth GLOVER  (September 11, 1892 - May 21, 1972) and they had at least  one child: J. P. McCLENDON (private) who married Dorothy Jean WALLEY (September 11, 1892 - May 21, 1972); They are Donna Jean McCLENDON McGuyer's parents. See Donna Jean McCLENDON McGuyer's web page.
   

3. Henry Monroe McCLENDON (January 31, 1888 in Osyka, Pike Co., MS - April 26, 1970). He was born in Mississippi and died in Jackson, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana. Henry Monroe McCLENDON's SS-5 form.
   
   He married Ada EZELL (September 03, 1890 - August 08, 1968) and they had seven children:
   
   a. Margaret McCLENDON (? - ?)
   b. Mildred McCLENDON (? - ?)
   c. R.C. Mac McCLENDON (April 22, 1912 - April 14, 1986)
   d. Bascom D. McCLENDON (October 24, 1916 - November 30, 1979)
   e. Leo McCLENDON (June 09, 1923 - November 28, 1984)
    f. Walter H. McCLENDON (1926 - December 12, 1998) See his obituary, below.)
   g. Charles McCLENDON (April 13, 1932 - May 10, 1969)
   
   Later, he married Jessie Era FORTENBERRY Magee on February 16, 1963.

John "Eddie" Edward  McCLENDON (March 09, 1891 - July 09, 1950; see John Eddie McCLENDON's death certificate), see his obituary, below, married Mabel GRAVES (January 07, 1907 - July 29, 1930; see Mrs. Mable McClendon's death certificate). Mabel GRAVES parents were John Rankin GRAVES and Mary Ella GRANTHAM. See My GRAVESes. John Edward McCLENDON and Mabel GRAVES were my grandparents. They had two children: 
   
   a. Eddie Mae McCLENDON (private) and 
   b. my father, John Eugene McCLENDON, Sr. (private). He married Geraldine HATHORNE, my Mother. (See my father and my mother's web page for a photo and more information about her.). They had 2 children: my brother, John Eugene McCLENDON, Jr. and myself, "Patty," Patricia Darlene McCLENDON.
   
   
   After Mabel GRAVES McClendon died, John Edward McCLENDON married Artena COOPER (September 05, 1896 - August 03, 1924). She was born in Isabel, Louisiana and died in Bogalusa, Washington Parish, Louisiana. 
   
   John Edward McCLENDON and Artena COOPER are Artena Faye McCLENDON's grandparents. E-mail her: afm48@sbcglobal.net. John Edward McCLENDON and Artena COOPER had four children: 
   
   a. James Lavert McCLENDON (September 06, 1915 - June 25, 1984)
   b. Ernest Leroy McCLENDON (October 26, 1917 - January 03, 1996)

   d. Wilford O'Neal McCLENDON (June 15, 1924 - October 31, 1993) died in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He is Artena Faye McCLENDON's  father and was married twice with seven children by his first marriage. E-mail her: afm48@sbcglobal.net.
   

5. Minnie Belle McCLENDON (April 29, 1893 - February 20, 1958) married James Warren MIZELL (February 23, 1890 - May 23, 1968). They had at least two children:

McClendon) on Jan 16, 1896 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA. See Marriage Certificate, Part 1 and Part 2. No death certificate found in Louisiana for her. Laura E. PERRY was the daughter of Unknown PERRY and his wife.

Joseph P. McCLENDON and Laura E PERRY married Jan 16, 1896 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA. They had at least nine children:

1. Prentiss C. McClendon (Nov 29, 1896 in Tangipahoa Parish, LA - Bet. 1976 - 1977 in Theodore, Mobile Co., AL?) married Lizzie Ditto (Dec 11, 1897 in LA -  Mar 1975 in Mobile, Mobile Co., AL). They had at least 3 children: Estelle McClendon; Jesse J. McClendon; and Jay B. McClendon

2. "Georgie," Mary Georgia McClendon (Apr 1898 in LA - Bef. 1927, in child birth?) married Leslie Brumfield (J L Brumfield)

3. Floyd Joseph McClendon (Bet. May 02, 1898 - 1899 in LA - Nov 20, 1923; buried in Ponemah Cemetery, Bogalusa, Washington Parish, LA) married Claudia E. Sumrall (Oct 10, 1902 in MS? - Mar 01, 1993; buried in Ponemah Cemetery, Bogalusa, Washington Parish, LA). They had at least 2 children: Juanita McClendon and Virginia McClendon. Claudia E. Sumrall married Harry Castle Sibley after the death of Floyd Joseph McClendon.

4. Dixie Martha McClendon (Apr 17, 1900 in LA - )Apr 06, 1996 in Care Nursing Home, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, LA; buried in Resthaven Cemetery, Baton Rouge, LA) married "Bud," George W. Bannister / Banister (Aug 19, 1894 in LA - Dec 15, 1964 in his home, Baton Rouge, LA). They had at least 4 children: James M. Bannister, George W. Bannister II, William Henry Bannister, Sr., and Harry Edward Bannister.

5. V. Orie, Orrie or Ora McClendon (Jan 03, 1902 in LA - Jun 11, 1986 in LA; buried in Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA) married Robert Wilson Bush (May 29, 1890 in LA - Sep 21, 1966 in LA; buried in Isabel Baptist Church Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA). They had at least 5 children: Bonnie Faye Bush, Lucious Bush, Robert Bush, Lanza Bush, and Everett Levi Bush.

6. Marie McClendon (Abt. 1903 in LA? - ?; buried in Statham Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA?) married William Bosa Miller (Dec 12, 1895 in LA - Mar 16, 1943; buried in Statham Cemetery, Washington Parish, LA). They had at least 5 children: Donnie Miller, Burton Miller, Billy Ray Miller, Patsy Miller, and Bruce Miller.

7. Muriel McClendon (Nov 25, 1905 in LA - Aug 17, 1999 in Taft, San Patricio Co., TX) married (1.) Win Sommers - no children?; (2.) "Jim," James M. Fortenberry (abt. 1901 in LA - Jul 1978) - They had at least 2 children: Robert Fortenberry and Christine Fortenberry; and (3.) J. B. Outlaw -  no children.

8. Milton John McClendon (Sep 09, 1907 in LA - Bef. 2007 ?) married Faye / Faiery Denny (Abt. 1911 in LA? - Bef. 2003?). They had at least 4 children: Jean McClendon, Milton McClendon, Jr, Helen McClendon, and Alice McClendon.

9. Lois McClendon (Apr 17, 1909 in LA? - Aug 02, 1995 in Washington Parish, LA ?) married Burnell H. Powell (Apr 08, 1913 in LA - Feb 1970 in LA?). They had at least 2 children: Burnell Powell, Jr. and Ray Powell, Jr.
